After nearly 10 years living at number 18, it was time for our sellers to move on and find a bigger property, especially as their two adult kids had moved back home.

The Campaign
The property is a plaster home with cavity system and is attached to another property. Being at the end of the row, it had the largest freehold section and additional off-street parking. Our sellers had previously been on the market in 2018 with a different agent so we wanted to make sure we addressed any issues that may have come up last time. We had the property re-photographed as well as a property video and advertised online including Trade Me, Realestate.co.nz, Harcourts.co.nz, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn as well as half-page advertisements in our local real estate paper – The Outlook.

The Process
After talking through the different options, our sellers decided to go with the auction process. We had sold another similar property in Carento Way using the same method and the more structured process appealed. Being plaster, we weren’t expecting a huge number of buyers throughout the campaign however we knew this property offered great value. We had 10 buyers through 3 open homes but had to cancel the last one and switch to viewing by appointment due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

The Deal
We received a pre-auction offer for the property during week three of the campaign. Our sellers accepted this offer and with no further bidding the property was sold just before NZ went into the Level 4 lock-down.
