Stanmore Bay School Star Awards
The SBS Kiwi Star Award was established by Anita Dobson and Stanmore Bay School in 2018 to acknowledge kids who really do their best.
We have built the criteria for this award to align with the school’s current PB4L’s standards and includes:
- Respects themselves, others and the environment
- Perseveres and strives to give 100% in everything that they do
- Connects with others, positively and collaboratively
- Is a good friend, consistently
As you can see the criteria for this award is not just targeted towards academic or sporting achievements, but is for a student who shows the above attributes in everyday school life.
At the end of term assemblies Anita presents certificates to the SBS Kiwi Stars, one student from each year, along with a $20 Warehouse Voucher. The latest vote at assembly was a very close 50/50 call between slime and Lego!
At the Stanmore Bay School end of year Prizegiving, a trophy is presented to the overall winner for each Whanau and you can see these displayed in the trophy cabinet at the school office.
