March’s report is very interesting!  While on the North Shore the average sale price dropped slightly from last month by 3.04%, the average sale price for the Auckland region rose by 13% from $637,000 in March 2014 to $720,000 in March 2015!

As the REINZ has reported, Auckland saw a record number of auction sales in March with nearly one out of two homes selling by Auction. Their data also shows that on a suburb by suburb basis, auctions sell for a premium compared to other sales.

The number of sales increased to 500 in March but we are still seeing a high demand and low supply of listings coming on to the market.  With winter coming I believe that this will continue to be the case which will see prices remain strong.
